Create a rule by describing it
Keywords, the DM, several public-reply variants, on one post or on every post. Templates with {username} and {keyword} work exactly as in the dashboard.
Edit, pause, resume, delete
"Pause every rule that mentions the webinar." Partial edits change only the fields you name.
Dry-run a comment
Type a comment, see which rule fires and the exact DM and reply a follower would receive. Nothing is sent.

Create an access token
Sign in at autodm.viaepic.com, open AI apps in the top menu, click Generate access token. Copy the connector URL; it is shown once and you can regenerate it any time.
Claude
claude.ai → Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Name it Auto DM, paste the URL, leave the OAuth fields empty. Works in the desktop and mobile apps too.
ChatGPT
Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings → Developer mode on → Create. Paste the URL as the MCP server URL, authentication No authentication.

Per-user tokens
Every Pro or Agency login creates its own token. A token sees only that login's Instagram accounts and rules. Nothing is shared between users.
Not your Instagram password
The token works only against Auto DM. Your Instagram permission was granted on Instagram's own screen and never passes through the assistant.
Revoke in one click
AI apps → Revoke disconnects every assistant at once. Generating a new token does the same. Tokens are stored hashed, like passwords.

What is MCP and why does it matter here?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard that Claude, ChatGPT and most AI coding tools use to talk to outside services. Auto DM runs an MCP server, so an assistant can read your posts and manage your keyword rules the same way the dashboard does, under your own login.
Which assistants work with Auto DM?
Claude on claude.ai, the Claude desktop and mobile apps and Claude Code; ChatGPT with developer mode (Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise); and any other MCP client that supports the Streamable HTTP transport, such as Cursor.
Which plans include it?
Pro (₹149 a month or ₹1,499 a year) and Agency (₹999 a month or ₹9,999 a year). Free-plan accounts can read the setup page but cannot create a token; upgrading inside the app unlocks it immediately. You also need an assistant subscription that allows custom connectors.
Can the assistant send DMs to my followers?
No. The connector manages rules only: list, create, edit, pause, delete and test. Broadcasts and catch-up runs stay in the dashboard, where you see the recipient list and a progress bar before anything goes out. Rules the assistant creates follow the same 24-hour repeat guard and plan limits as rules made by hand.
Is my Instagram login exposed?
No. The access token works only against Auto DM. Your Instagram permission was granted on Instagram's own screen and never passes through the assistant. Revoke the token in one click on the AI apps page and every assistant is disconnected.
Does the token in the URL matter?
Treat the connector URL like a password: it identifies your Auto DM login. Do not share screenshots of it. If it leaks, generate a new token; the old URL stops working immediately.
